As I got older I started to realise that I was falling out of love with science fiction. Modern writing was moving in a more character centric direction, often sacrificing the science in its wake. For me the great explorative ‘Golden Age’ of Verne and Wells was being lost. I felt that the story should always be cemented in the science, and the characters should then add to that, Which is why I became a writer; to reawaken a lost concept in a comtemporary world!
